Synchronous: Engagement and Participation in Adobe Connect

Class time in Adobe Connect

Online classes in the School of Arts and Sciences incorporate live synchronous sessions via video conferencing platforms, usually Adobe Connect. Adobe Connect can be used for a variety of familiar classroom interactions: lecture (including multimedia components like PowerPoint), discussion, and small group work. Professors and students can use text chat, voice, and web cams to interact.

This Module focuses on best practices and methodologies for these live sessions and includes:

  • Recorded Adobe Connect sessions that model lecture, discussion, and small group work
  • Tutorial documents explaining how to set up Adobe Connect including audio, and use pods, break-out groups and other features, and also trouble shoot common problems.
  • The  document "Tips for Synchronous Sessions" which will open in Canvas but is also a downloadable PDF.
  • Additionally, this module includes information and tutorials about creating PowerPoint and other presentations for use online, including a video and downloadable document on  "Tips for Creating Presentation Slides"
