Darwinator - Submission (DUE FRIDAY 5PM)
- Due Nov 4, 2011 by 5pm
- Points 5
Project Assignment (completed individually):
- Visit the websites of some ventures that either came out of this class or were created by alums (www.terrapass.com Links to an external site., www.officedrop.com Links to an external site., www.warbyparker.com Links to an external site., www.electnext.com Links to an external site., www.gridium.com Links to an external site., www.docasap.com Links to an external site., www.gordiancapital.com Links to an external site.).
- Generate ten opportunities for a new business. We will use these opportunities to feed the innovation process we operate in the course. You may certainly begin to generate opportunities before reading the book chapters, but I highly recommend that you read T&U Chapters 2 and 3 (and probably Chapter 2 from Why Not?) before you complete your opportunity identification efforts.
-
Although you should feel free to consider any compelling concept, for our purposes the most valuable businesses are those that:
- Serve markets that include 25-35 year-old professionals (in part so you can "use yourselves" as representative customers).
- Require relatively limited capital investment to get to a validated business concept.
- Can be prototyped/demonstrated in some (limited?) way with a few weeks of effort.
Submit at least 5 of your 10 opportunities to the Darwinator Links to an external site.. (You should have received an email inviting you to log in to the Darwinator. Contact Joel if not.). (Note the due date!)
Please be sure that your opportunities have nice clear, snappy titles (which serve as the main source of information for those rating the opportunities), and concise and well-written descriptions.
